Meet\u00a0Aleksandar Andrijevic \u2013 we’ll have the pleasure to hear from him for the first time at this year’s WordCamp Sofia. Aleksandar is a back-end software developer with over 5 years of experience with web and other technologies. He’s currently working at Folkmatic in Belgrade.<\/p>\n

Aleksandar is developing hard-to-find functionalities for the WordPress platform on a daily basis and he has a lot of amazing insights and tips to share with us.<\/p>\n

Before we hear from him on the 11th of November, let’s see how it all begun:<\/p>\n

Hey Aleksandar, can you introduce yourself ?<\/strong>
\nMy name is Aleksandar Andrijevic, I am currently living and working in Belgrade, Serbia, but I am originally from the city of Nis, southern part of Serbia.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s your specialty?
\n<\/strong>I am primarily \u0430 back-end developer, working with PHP\/JavaScript and some frameworks. I also develop in WordPress, themes and plugins. Most of the time I am also good at making pasta, it depends on ingredients available and how much I am not lazy! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

How many languages do you speak?<\/strong>
\nI speak Serbian, English and a little bit of German.<\/p>\n

What was your first encounter with WordPress?<\/strong>
\nI was working at my previous company, and one day they just said „Listen, we have one project, it’s nothing hard“. I liked it, and from then on, I am happy with it. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

What is the best WordPress advice you have ever received?<\/strong>
\n„Keep it updated“.<\/p>\n

What is your motivation to speak at WordCamp Sofia 2017?<\/strong>
\nTo share my experience and to support the WordPress community grow. I am always willing to help people when in need and I am glad if someone took interest purely on that. And of course, to meet with some old and new friends \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

How did you you choose the topic of your talk?
\n<\/strong>I was always interested in mobile applications, and I was looking for a way to cover both iOS and Android when building something, so one day I discovered cross-platform framework that do that. Code-once\/run anywhere is my choice whenever possible.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

What is you favorite movie?<\/strong>
\nThere are many, but let’s say for now „Heat(1995)<\/a>„<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Aleksandar will talk about\u00a0going native with the WordPress API<\/a>, which might be interesting for anybody who needs to build a cross-platform iOS\/Android mobile app to access the WordPress API. He tried it in NativeScript and will touch on his experience with it.<\/p>\n
