Marko Heijnen is a senior software engineer at Jamf and the founder of CodeKitchen. Based in the Netherlands, he specialises in automation, cloud infrastructure and building systems that need to remain reliable at scale.
He has contributed to WordPress since 2009 and worked on 23 WordPress releases. His contributions include helping redesign WordPress’s image-handling architecture and leading the development of GlotPress from 2013 to 2015. He also helped start the WordPress meetup community in Belgrade, which later grew into WordCamp Belgrade.
Today, Marko builds large-scale automation for managing and analysing software applications. He enjoys turning complicated technical problems into practical systems—and questioning whether the metrics we use actually measure what we think they do.
Outside software, he plays handball, runs youth training sessions and experiments with 3D printing.
